Heschel cultivates the spiritual lives of our students and nurtures their commitment to Jewish values. Heschel students learn the texts and skills that enable them to participate fully in Jewish life, as they also learn to respect a range of Jewish practices and traditions.
Torah study is the heart of our Jewish life, inspiring ideas, beliefs, and actions. Meaningful and reflective tefillah/תפילה/prayer allows our students to start each day with a sense of amazement and provides the framework for joyful celebration of holidays, milestones, and communal events. Through their study of Hebrew, history, and cultural traditions, Heschel students develop a deep commitment to and lifelong relationship with Israel as a part of their Jewish identities

HOLIDAYS @ HESCHEL
At Heschel, we live the Jewish calendar with all of its celebrations and commemorations. The Jewish holidays live in our curriculum and come alive in our programming. We celebrate each holiday together through festive tefillah, spirited celebration of Jewish rituals and customs, learning opportunities, and experiential activities.
