Before applying to our Early Childhood division, please know:

• Nursery- Children applying for Nursery must reach their 3rd birthday by August 31, 2025.

• Pre-K- Children applying for Pre-K must reach their 4th birthday by August 31, 2025.

• Kindergarten- Children applying for Kindergarten must reach their 5th birthday by August 31, 2025.

• Students must be fully immunized based on New York State requirements.

Parent Questionnaire

The Parent Questionnaire allows Heschel's Admissions team to better understand your child and your family. This form should be submitted before your Parent Interview.

Parent Interview

Sign up through Ravenna to schedule your Parent Interview. Prior to the interview, please be sure that the Parent Questionnaire has been submitted.

Play Visit

Small group, in-person. Register for date and time on Ravenna. Prior to the Play Visit, please be sure that the Preliminary Application and Parent Questionnaire have been submitted. 

Teacher Observation Form

On Ravenna, delegate to your child’s teacher by entering their email address. Be sure to press "Submit" after entering the email address. The form will be emailed directly to the teacher, and they will return it directly to Heschel. Due January 16, 2025.

Financial Aid (if applicable)

Please visit our financial aid page for information about applying for aid. The deadline to complete your financial aid application is December 16, 2024.

The Parent Questionnaire allows Heschel's Admissions team to better understand your child and your family. Please submit this form before your Parent Interview and Student Assessment.

Parent Interview and Student Assessment for General Studies and Hebrew: 

On Ravenna, register for date and time of your choice. In-person evaluations will include a brief tour for your child. Prior to the interview and assessment, please be sure that the Preliminary Application, Parent Questionnaire, and School Report have been submitted.

Teacher Recommendations:

On the online application, delegate to two (2) of your child’s teachers by entering their email addresses. Be sure to press "Submit" after entering the email addresses. The forms will be emailed directly to the teachers, and they will return them directly to Heschel. Due January 9, 2025. 

School Reports:

An official transcript, with report cards (current year and past two years), along with standardized test scores (if applicable), should be requested from your school and sent to the Admissions Office. Once available, end-of-year grades should be emailed as well. Due January 9, 2025.

After you complete your preliminary application, please schedule your in-person Parent and Student Interview through Ravenna.

School Reports

School reports from current schools are required to complete the application. An official transcript should be sent directly from the applicant’s school by January 9, 2025.

Submit Test Scores

For entrance in Fall 2024, Heschel will not be requiring a current standardized admissions test (ISEE Primary) as part of the application process. Applicants are instead requested to submit the results of their most recent standardized test administered by their current school — e.g., ERB, or ELA.

Student Essay

Choose three out of the five ISAAGNY topics listed on the application.
